Town progression is the bridge between daily farm work and Fields of Mistria’s larger story. Requests, deliveries, Town Rank, repair projects, the Saturday Market, and the Bell Tower each ask you to move through the town with a purpose. This hub separates those systems so a new player can tell whether an item should be sold, stored, gifted, donated, or delivered. It also reflects the full 1.0 state: the official announcement says the Town Repair Questline can be completed, the renown cap is 100, the Mistril Town Rank event exists, and the Saturday Market Plaza and Bell Tower quests were added.

Pick the town milestone you actually need

Start by identifying the locked result: a rank event, a repair completion, a market access point, a Bell Tower story step, or a request reward. Then check the Town Repair and Rank guide if the goal is broad progression, Requests and Market if the goal is a board or Saturday Market task, or Bell Tower Story if the story route is the blocker. The pages overlap in location but not in player intent.

Do not assume the highest-value item in a chest is the correct town item. A crop can be a profitable sale, a gift, a collection entry, or the last ingredient for a request. Before selling, look at the request board, storage, and Museum plan. The two-minute check can save an entire season of replacement work.

Town Rank and repair work

Town Rank gives your routine a long-term direction. Repair tasks and renown are not separate from farming; they tell you which materials and deliveries deserve a reserve. The 1.0 announcement raised the Town Renown cap to 100 and added the Mistril Town Rank Event. That is useful confirmation that rank is a released progression system, but it does not make every community threshold table permanent. Use the in-game guide and current quest text for exact requirements.

The Town Repair and Rank page recommends a three-basket storage habit: one basket for an active request, one for the next repair or rank goal, and one for safe surplus. When a repair is completed, revisit the baskets. A material that was urgent yesterday may now be a tool component or a useful sale. This prevents the opposite mistake of hoarding everything and leaving the farm without usable funds.

Requests and the Saturday Market

Requests are small route planners. Read the requested item, recipient, deadline or availability, and reward before you accept a long detour. If the item is already in storage, deliver it while you are in town. If it needs a seasonal source, add it to the farm or collection plan instead of promising an impossible same-day run. The board should change how you schedule, not make every day feel like a race.

The official 1.0 notes say that unlocking Stillwell gives access to Mission Quests at his Mission Board in the Saturday Market, while Zorel sells Crystal Resonators and Song Crystals there. They also add the Saturday Market Plaza quest and new requests. Keep these facts distinct: the Market is a location and unlock route; a specific mission or item is a separate current requirement. The Bell Tower and late town route

The Bell Tower is an explicit 1.0 town quest rather than a generic decoration. The official notes confirm a Repair the Bell Tower quest and v1.0.2 mentions that players can no longer glitch into the Bell Tower before it is unlocked. This makes access order important. Do not rely on an old screenshot that shows a route before the quest. Follow the quest log, complete the required town work, and treat the Bell Tower guide as a story progression page rather than a map shortcut.

The Bell Tower Story page helps when the player knows the destination but not the prerequisite. It lists what to inspect, what evidence is official, how to recover from a missed visit, and which other pages to read next. It will not invent a hidden quest trigger or promise a reward that is absent from the current dialogue.

A town day that does not waste the farm

Finish urgent crop and animal care first. Carry one delivery, one gift, and one flexible slot rather than emptying the entire storage chest. Walk a route that groups the request board, shops, and the relevant NPCs. If the next action is mining or gathering, use the town visit to set the destination and return path. If it is a relationship day, deliver the gift and talk before optional shopping. When the route is complete, go home early enough to sort the new items.

Town days are also good recovery days. If the mine route failed, use a request or conversation to make progress while you rebuild food and equipment. If the farm expanded too far, use the town route to collect a practical tool or recipe rather than adding another plot. Progress is still progress when it is chosen deliberately.

Common town mistakes

• Accepting every board request before checking the season or storage.
• Selling a rare collection item because its immediate price looks useful.
• Treating a community threshold as an official 1.0 guarantee.
• Entering a locked story location through an old route or glitch.
• Confusing a Market vendor unlock with the full town repair line.
• Ignoring the Updates page after a patch changes quest text or crash behavior.
