Collections in Fields of Mistria are a planning problem disguised as a storage problem. The Museum, seasonal fish and bugs, archaeology finds, farm products, and new 1.0 sets all compete with requests, gifts, cooking, and sale income. This hub helps you keep the item that advances a specific collection without claiming that a community checklist is complete or that every item is available in every season. Use the focused pages when you need a location or gap, and keep the current game menu as the final lookup.

Scope: Steam AppID 2142790 base game, public 1.0 branch, Windows and SteamOS + Linux. The official 1.0 notes confirm that the Museum can now be completed, Museum Wing rooms can be entered, and Honey and Terrarium Treasures sets were added. Collection availability and names can change with updates or localization.

Protect items by destination

When an item enters your inventory, give it a provisional destination: Museum, request, gift, recipe, tool or forge, animal product, or safe sale. If it fits more than one destination, keep it until the next route tells you which is urgent. This is more useful than keeping every item forever. A Museum reserve protects a seasonal find; a request reserve protects a deadline; a recipe reserve protects an intended travel meal.

The Museum Completion guide focuses on donation order and set tracking. Fish and Bugs focuses on season and time-window lookup. Archaeology Sets focuses on excavation and material planning. These pages should not duplicate a single “all items” table whose values become stale after every patch.

Museum completion at 1.0

The official 1.0 announcement changes the end-state: the Museum can be completed, its wing rooms can be entered, and new Honey and Terrarium Treasures sets with rewards are available. That gives a player a clear long-term project. It does not mean that every item should be donated immediately. Some products are needed for cooking, gifts, requests, or tool work. Read the set name and reward, then choose the delivery that affects your current route.

Keep a lightweight checklist with the set, item name, season or source, and status. “Found” and “donated” should be separate states. If a duplicate is needed for a recipe or request, mark it before donating. When a set is complete, revisit storage and decide whether the old reserve can now be sold or repurposed. The Updates hub is the place to notice new sets after a patch.

Seasonal fish and bugs

Fish and bugs are the classic missed collection items because their source is constrained by season, time, weather, location, or tool. The Fish and Bugs guide shows how to build a route: choose the missing category, check the current season, carry the relevant tool or bait if the game requires it, and combine the trip with a request or relationship visit. Do not leave a crop or animal route unfinished for a low-confidence rumor about a catch window.

Community season pages are useful for discovering what to look for, but they can differ by version or omit a late item. Label each table with its check date, keep unknown fields blank, and confirm the current collection menu. If the item is not available now, convert the task into a future-season note rather than repeating a fruitless trip.

Archaeology and excavation

Archaeology turns ordinary exploration into a collection route. The Archaeology Sets guide helps you decide when to carry excavation tools, where to fit the search into a town or mine day, and how to store a find before you know its final destination. Treat a rare-looking object as “unassigned” until you have checked the Museum, request board, and crafting menu.

An excavation trip has a natural stopping point: when the tool cost or detour is no longer justified by the missing set. If you continue after that point, make the choice because the area also advances mining, a request, or a relationship route. Collections should create useful routes through the world, not force an inventory cleanup every night.

A weekly collection review

At the start of a season, review missing seasonal items and reserve storage space. During the week, mark newly found items before selling. On a town day, donate only when the destination is clear, then check the displayed set reward. At the end of the week, move “not available this season” items to a future note and remove completed-set reserves. This four-step review stops the collection from competing with every daily objective.

If a collection page says “complete” but the in-game Museum disagrees, trust the game and report the mismatch as date-sensitive. If a patch adds a set, record the official announcement and the new scope rather than rewriting the entire guide as timeless. The 1.0 notes also say achievements were added and can populate retroactively after loading a save, so collection completion and achievement state may not be identical on the same day.

Collection mistakes and recovery

  • Selling a unique seasonal item before checking the Museum.
  • Donating the only ingredient needed for a cooking or Town request.
  • Treating an Early Access collection checklist as the 1.0 final list.
  • Using a console, platform, or DLC table for the Steam base game.
  • Calling a community “known list” complete when missing fields are unresolved.
  • Spending an entire day on a source that is out of season.

Recovery is usually a route change, not a reset. Note the next season, preserve the replacement ingredient, and use the current day on a different Museum gap. The Farming hub helps when the missing item is a crop or animal product; Town helps when the item is also a request.

Sources and limits

The Steam Store and official 1.0 News were checked 2026-08-09. Current Seasons and related wiki pages support lookup discovery. This hub does not claim that an unofficial checklist is complete.
