The Museum becomes a clear long-term goal in Fields of Mistria’s 1.0 release. The official announcement says it can now be completed, its wing rooms can be entered, and the Honey and Terrarium Treasures sets were added. Completion is still a route-planning exercise: an item needed by the Museum may also be a meal ingredient, a gift, a Town request, or a seasonal product that is difficult to replace.
Track “found” separately from “donated”
When you collect an item, record two states: found and donated. A found item can still be the only ingredient for a request or meal. A donated item has advanced a set and may unlock a reward. Keep one reserve only when another destination is confirmed; do not hoard every duplicate. This small distinction prevents the common mistake of opening the Museum, donating immediately, and then discovering that the same item was needed for tomorrow’s town route.
Use the Collections hub for the broader plan. Use Fish and Bugs when a seasonal source is the gap and Archaeology Sets when excavation is the route. The Farming hub helps when the missing item is a crop or animal product.
Make a set-first route
Open the Museum and choose one incomplete set. Write the missing item, its likely season or source, and a secondary reason to visit that area. A river route can combine fishing with a town conversation. A farm route can combine crop care with a collection reserve. An excavation route can combine archaeology with mining materials. Stop when the set goal is complete or the source is unavailable; do not burn an entire day searching outside the item’s current window.
When a set is nearly complete, compare the final item with the request board, recipes, and relationship plan before donating. The official 1.0 notes mention set rewards but do not establish that every reward is needed for every save. Choose the set because it serves your current goal, then re-sort the reward and storage after completion.
Seasonal gaps
Fish, bugs, crops, and forage can be time- or season-sensitive. At the start of a season, read the current collection menu and mark gaps that can be found now. Carry the right tool or bait if the game presents one. If a community chart lists a source outside the current game state, keep it as a lead rather than a guarantee. A missed season becomes a future note, not a reason to sell a different unique item.
The current Seasons reference is useful for discovery, but exact availability can be affected by an update or an incomplete table. Record the check date and leave unknown fields empty. Calling a partial index complete makes it harder for players to see what they still need.
Archaeology and rare finds
Treat an unusual excavation item as unassigned until you check the Museum, crafting menu, requests, and gifts. Keep it in the collection reserve when its source is seasonal or its replacement route is unclear. If excavation consumes a tool or stamina resource, combine it with a mine or town day that already has a reason to be in the area.
If the Museum does not accept the item, do not assume it is broken. Check the set category, current version, and whether it is instead a material or quest object. Completion review and recovery
At the end of each week, inspect incomplete sets and remove completed reserves. If you donated the only cooking or request item, note the next source and let the next day advance another goal. If a listed item is missing from the Museum, compare the game’s current UI with the guide’s check date before reporting a bug. If a reward or achievement appears late, remember that 1.0 achievements can populate retroactively after a save is loaded; Museum state and achievement timing do not have to change at the same instant.
