The Bell Tower is a 1.0 town-story destination, not a shortcut to enter through an old map route. The official Fields of Mistria 1.0 notes add the Repair the Bell Tower quest, and v1.0.2 says players can no longer glitch into the Bell Tower before it is unlocked. Use the current quest log and interaction state as the route authority.
Confirm that the Bell Tower is your blocker
Read the current Town or story quest and identify the exact action it asks for. If the task points to a repair, delivery, rank event, or conversation elsewhere, complete that step first. A locked door or ladder does not prove the save is broken. Compare the visible quest state with the 1.0 Town Repair route in Town Repair and Rank.
Do not use a screenshot or video as proof of access order unless it shows the same public version. Early Access routes can omit the 1.0 quest or use a different story state. The Updates hub records the official milestone and v1.0.2 access fix.
Build the route before the visit
Finish the farm chores that cannot wait, then use the town route to deliver any active request and read the current quest text. Keep storage space, food, and a return plan. If the quest asks for a material, check the Museum, cooking, gift, and tool destinations before spending it. If it asks for a conversation, note the NPC’s current location rather than walking to an old screenshot position.
The Bell Tower visit can be paired with ordinary town work, but do not add a full mine or fishing trip if the story step is time-sensitive. A shorter successful visit is more useful than reaching the tower late and learning nothing.
Handle a missing interaction
If the interaction is absent, check the quest log, Town Rank, repair state, date, and current patch. Re-enter the area through the normal route after completing the prerequisite. Avoid diagonal collision tricks or repeated rapid interactions; v1.0.2 explicitly fixed access and collision behavior around the tower and other areas.
If the save still behaves differently, capture the exact version, platform, quest text, and action. Search the official news before applying community troubleshooting. Preserve the save and avoid deleting files while diagnosing a progression issue.
Continue after the story step
Once the Bell Tower quest advances, read the next task before returning to the old route. New dialogue, Town Rank work, requests, and relationship schedules may become the better use of the next day. Store any reward with a destination and update your Town plan. The point of the Bell Tower guide is not to force a single ending; it is to keep a story gate from sending you into an incorrect route.
Take a screenshot or written note of the exact quest text when the state changes. That helps distinguish a normal next step from a missing interaction and gives later update notes a precise comparison point. Do not publish a hidden trigger from one report; wait for a current source or an in-game confirmation.
If the quest sends you back through town, use that return trip for one confirmed delivery or conversation, then stop. The Bell Tower story is a progression gate, so overloading the visit with a full farm, mine, and Market schedule increases the chance of missing the next dialogue. A simple route is easier to verify when a patch changes a line or collision.
Keep the quest journal open when you leave the area so the next objective is not lost among ordinary requests.
